For the 2023 Publica Awards, the Antwerp Police Department was awarded for their tireless work in improving public safety. V-Armed CEO, Ezra Krausz, was invited to attend the Publica Awards gala and take the stage alongside leadership from the Antwerp PD when the awards were presented. Although the agency has received several awards in the past, this year they earned two prestigious awards due to the opening of their trailblazing Public Safety Headquarters.
From Maarten Vandenhende, Antwerp Police Commissioner: “The Publica Awards reward the best public projects in Belgium, and acts as a platform for the development of future projects and ideas for and by local governments. With the VR space, we continue this tradition by winning two awards: the public award and the silver medal in the Security & Safety category.”
The virtual reality training simulator installed in the new police headquarters highlights the latest V-Armed technology: fully wireless headsets, 6 force options and peripherals per person, full-body movement tracking, custom scenario creation, and detailed after action review. The system exists within a free-roaming 6,000 sq ft training volume that can accommodate up to 10 simultaneous participants and trainers at once in the environment.
